Volunteers
Volunteers are Very Important Persons (VIP) at the Drs. Paul and John Rekai Centre. The volunteer numbers have risen dramatically from four years ago when there were less than six volunteers to over 126 persons in 2010. These volunteers assist the residents in participating in the many outings now offered, visit with them in the home and provide assistance with the activities taking place in the home.
Each year, the Drs. Paul and John Rekai Centre holds a Volunteer Recognition Event where the Chair, Peter Rekai, personally thanks each volunteer for their time and support. Gail Henry, Chair of the Wellesley Central Place Family Council thanked the volunteers for providing much needed support and care to their family members.
This year, the Volunteer Recognition Awards were held at the Rekai Centre with over 100 volunteers in attendance.
The Board of Directors are also all volunteers and offer hundreds of hours of their time each year to support resident care and service.

The Drs. Paul and John Rekai Centre are proud to have a number of long standing employees serve our residents. In 2009, almost 90 staff service awards were given to individuals who had worked a minimum of 5 years with the corporation.
