Short Term Stay Accommodation & Respite Care.

From time to time, families who are caring for a loved one in the home need a break. Caregivers can become exhausted from the demands of caring for a loved one. We recognize and respect this need. Our homes offer accommodation for the loved one.

All individuals interested in seeking short term stay accommodation/respite care in either home must contact Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) to determine their eligibility. HCCSS will advise the family when space is available to accommodate their needs.

The cost to stay in a short term stay accommodation/respite care room is $42.28 with the rate being established by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

The Rekai Centre at Wellesley Central Place

The Rekai Centre at Wellesley Central Place has two short stay rooms: one for a male and one for a female. Each room is a private room with a shared bathroom. The resident receives the same care as our long term care residents. The medication for the resident will be administered by our Registered Nursing staff.

The Rekai Centre at Sherbourne Place

The Rekai Centre at Sherbourne Place offers two short term stay beds. These beds are found in either a 4 bed ward style room or a two bed semi-private room (depending on availability at the time of request). The resident receives the same care as our long term care residents with the medication being administered by our Registered Nursing staff.
